Heart of Dakota Creation to Christ TG and four books for sale

It's time to put the HOD up for sale.  I still have my final thoughts and such to pen but we finished it last week and are ready to part with it.
HOD C to C set
$118 plus shipping

All items are in excellent to very good condition: teacher's guide (unit 7 day 1 page has a slight blobble of blue paint that splattered at the top of it-it is very light and doesn't affect anything-just wanted to point that out). A Child's Geography vol. 2 [includes CD], God King, Story of the Ancient World are all PB. Genesis: Finding Our Roots is HB.  These have only been gone thru once with one student-so they are crisp and clean.

This is sold as a set only.  I will need your zip to figure out the shipping (US only) to give you your final amt.

Leave a comment (monitored so your info will not be shown on the blog) if you are serious about purchasing it.  Thanks.

Wow-I haven't posted since July?

Well, honestly-we haven't done too much CM stuff to require a post.  I hope to get into an artist and composer this semester and once we do, I will post.  Maybe I will partake in the CM carnival too-might motivate me.  Anyhoo-I am still here just not able to provide much inspiration for ya.  Hope your 2012 was a good one and the new year will be even better!  Blessings

Not Back to School Blog Hop coming up soon!

Yikes-I am not ready.  I just am not-mostly to admit that my time "off" is coming to a close.  Usually we only take about 6 weeks or so off in the summer and start up again-but this year, I needed more time.  With the graduation of our third child-I have had other things to work on.  I will do a post about that another time-but for now just wanted to get you all ready-as we only have only 12 days (as the posting of this) to get moving to be able to post about our Not Back to School stuff.  So like me, if you are not "ready" yet, get moving! It is fun to blog hop and see how folks 'do school', and what others are using to do it. I have to get into the classroom area and rearrange and clean it up b/cuz right now it looks like a mini-tornado blew thru it. Oi.  So yes, there you go.  We can have a pre-blog hop panic party together if you'd like. I think the 31st of July would be good, that would give us a whopping 6 days to get moving on it in time to post! LOL.

Updates and re-retirement

I have a few more reviews up on the Home Educating Family Review site for you to see and have updated the HEF review page with those links. There are many other great ones to check out.  This is a great place to go to get insight before you buy.

ALSO-they have the 24 hr, 7 days a week, 365 days a year Homeschool Convention to attend-for FREE.  All virtual and every day they are adding more vendors, lectures, etc.  This is truly an amazing way to glean info on homeschooling and homeschool products.  They just added a few videos in the Explore Curriculum section (click the Explore Methods door).  This area will discuss the main styles of homeschooling-and it is a wonderful way to learn more about them.  In the Family/TV area-you can listen to many great speakers discussing all sorts of topics.  THIS is a must for all homeschoolers, no matter where you are in the world. Did you notice I said the entrance fee is FREE?  Well, just sign up and keep visiting cuz you will see new info coming up weekly.

That said-I have decided to step down from all reviewing (so I have left the HEF team) to focus on preparing for our next path (adoption) and such.  I hope you all will join us in prayer as we move through this journey and we look forward to sharing our story with you as it unfolds.

I am currently working on building up funds (since it is rather spency!) and so I have started a blog expressly for that purpose.  You can visit it to learn more about what we have going/available (right now I have some awesome book slings up for sale) and to find out more about our progress.

I have uploaded some copywork pages and one workbox number card page

I am finding it is easier to access this stuff on my Homeschool Launch page-so I will eventually get them all moved here.

For now there are a few copywork pages and one workbox number card set there.  Please remember these are not to be sold or distributed. These are for your own family's use. I have noted where I found the images on the pages.  The workbox one uses MS Word images that are copyright free as long as they are not used for profit (which these are not).  If you are not a member of HL, it is a quick process to join.  You do not have to contribute (from what I can see) in order to use the other files that are there.

You can find me at SheriH's Homeschool Launch Page

Artist Study: Pierre-Auguste Renoir Copywork pages: UPDATED INFO

I have uploaded these to my Homeschool Launch page.  You will need to join if not a member but it is free and only takes a few seconds.  These are a good way to use the CM method of copywork while exposing them to a few different pieces from Renoir.  This will go into their Great Artists Notebook (3 ring binder) they have.

For elementary grades

For Jr/Sr high (or for those students who
can do a lot of copywork neatly, precisely
and in a short amount of time.)

Thank you Olga's.  You make studying art possible for our family and others.

Emma (cross post) info

I wrote about Jane Austen's Emma and the importance of having good literature in our children's education.

Enjoy.

Our little art collection that must be framed

So I took down the poster above the white board and taped up these 5 pics the kids have done.  These are my favorites ones from their projects so far.  I will hopefully find some white frames to really draw attention to them and also, as ya know-we have to be matching with the room decor-LOL...

Oh, the writing on the board is for my teen's study of Emma.  We have so many characters and crazy love triangles that we figured it best to plot out the story characters and some interesting facts on the board to make sense of it. :)

Left to right:  the two Renoir mixed media paintings (DD decided not to add lettering to the can), the Pointillism project my DD did a couple years ago (you can read about it here) and the two 6 step paintings the kids did with our CM co-op.

I love how the kids art makes our room so cozy and personalized.  I love being able to look back at what they have done too.
